Welcome from your 2023-24 Branch President, Michelle Axworthy

It is with great pleasure and enthusiasm that I extend my warmest welcome to all new and returning CBA-NS members as the 79th President of the Nova Scotia Branch.

As we head into the 2023-24 membership year, I want to acknowledge the incredible talent, dedication, and expertise that each of you brings to our community. It is your collective passion and commitment that makes CBA-NS a force for positive change in our province, our country and beyond.

I want to express my sincere gratitude to the outgoing President, Kathleen McManus, KC, for her dedication and hard work over the past year. Her efforts have laid a strong foundation upon which we can continue to build and grow.

Our association is more than just an organization; it is a vibrant community of dedicated individuals who are committed to advancing our profession and supporting one another in our professional journeys.

I am excited to share my priorities for the year ahead, focusing on three critical pillars: Relationships, Collaboration, and Member Value.

1.    Relationships
Our organization is a community built on trust, expertise, and shared objectives. To thrive in the coming year, we must nurture and strengthen our relationships. This means fostering a sense of belonging, camaraderie, and mutual support among our members. We will invest in initiatives that facilitate meaningful connections, from local networking events to virtual platforms allowing members to share their experiences, insights, and challenges.

2. Collaboration
In a rapidly changing world, collaboration is not merely an option; it is a necessity. We will actively seek out partnerships and collaborations with other organizations, both within and beyond our industry. By pooling our resources, knowledge, and expertise, we can address complex issues, drive innovation, and create positive change. Our focus will be on creating a culture of collaboration that encourages open dialogue and the sharing of ideas. Together, we can achieve more than we ever could as individuals.

3. Member Value
Your membership in our organization should be a source of tangible benefits and value. In the coming year, we are committed to enhancing what we offer to our members. This includes expanding our educational programs, providing access to leading research and experts, and building up our advocacy initiatives.

I want to emphasize that your voices matter. Our organization is not just about its leadership; it's about all of us working together towards a common vision. I encourage you to actively engage with us, share your thoughts, and participate in shaping the future of your organization. To that end, don't hesitate to reach out to me or any member of our leadership team throughout the year.

I am thrilled to have the opportunity to serve as your President, and I look forward to getting to know our members better in the days and months ahead. Thank you for your dedication, passion, and commitment to the CBA, and our profession as a whole.
