The CBA-NS SAGDA Mentorship Program is a collaboration between the CBA-NS Sexual and Gender Diversity Alliance (SAGDA) Section and the Schulich OUTLaw Society. This program facilitates informal mentorship relationships between law students and legal practitioners belonging to the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.
Through this program, law students will have the opportunity to connect with practicing legal professionals to ask questions about navigating the legal profession as a 2SLGBTQIA+ person and will build and expand their professional networks. Legal professionals will join the program as mentors, offering advice, sharing their experiences, and providing guidance to students as they begin their legal careers.
How It Works
Interested participants can submit a completed Enrolment Form to pd@cbans.ca. The CBA-NS Office will match student mentees with mentors based on location, area of practice, and other criteria.
Minimum Commitment: Mentors and mentees are expected to connect (in-person, via video call, phone, or email) at least three times in the first six months of the program (between November 2025 and May 2026). Depending on interest, mentors may be matched with more than one mentee.
