Established in 2009, the Constance R. Glube Spirit Award celebrates members who demonstrate strong CBA spirit through outstanding effort and contribution to women in law.
Eligibility
The Award is open to any individual CBA member in good standing of the Nova Scotia Branch. Neither Table Officers of the Nova Scotia Branch nor sitting members of government are eligible for this Award. A deceased CBA member may only be nominated for the Award in the year in which they die.
Criteria
The committee will assess the nominations on the following criteria:
- A strong “CBA Spirit” demonstrated by a willingness to volunteer for the Association and promote its work.
- Advocacy of the CBA in general with a focus on CBA-Nova Scotia regardless of the number of years of membership.
- Dedication to leadership, mentoring and/or education of women in the law through participation in CBA conferences, seminars, committees and events.
- Involvement in community work which has enhanced the profile of women in law and the profile of CBA-Nova Scotia.
- Advancement of changes in the practice of law for women lawyers.
Nomination Procedure
Nominations must contain an explanation of how the nominee has demonstrated strong CBA spirit through outstanding effort and contribution to women in law, providing examples of how the nominee has met the nomination criteria (max 2,000 characters).
Nominations must also be supported by a letter or email endorsing the nominee (provided by a person or organisation other than the nominator). Additional supporting information (e.g. copies of media mentions, advocacy work, publications, presentations, mentoring work, etc.) may also be provided.
Nominations must include confirmation that the nominee is aware of the nomination and will attend the award presentation.

Selection Process
The Award is administered by the Nominating Committee, a standing committee of the Nova Scotia Branch. The Committee may determine that no Award shall be granted in any one year.
Presentation
The Award is presented biennially at the AGM or other CBA-NS event.
